A problematic snake from northwestern florida’s Apalochicola River valley. This is a large robust (36-48 in) kingsnake that was originally called “goini”, but then designated as an intergrade form of the Eastern and Florida kingsnakes. Dr Len Krysko wrote his doctorial thesis designating this snake as a legitimate subspecies, naming it after Bruce Means. Name it what you will, a fantastic snake regardless. A myriad of forms with sparkling colors of black, red, yellow, and white. There are three patterns, classic blotched, patternless, and striped. A great snake with a laid back personality, and a ravenous appetite.
